April Update!

I thought I'd take a few minutes to update folks on what's been happening with the Artmobile over the past few weeks. Thanks to Lisa McLymont, we now have an official logo! Also thanks to Lisa, the website, ColumbusArtmobile.com, is in it's final stages and will be up and running very soon.

We'll be out an about in a few places over the next month...on Thursday, April 22, we'll be running a kids' art booth at the Earth Day 2010 festival at Franklin Park from 3-8pm. Also appearing is local artist Eric Marlow so please come visit us if you can.

Then on Saturday, April 24 we'll be at ARTillery's Earth Day Art Market in the South Campus Gateway. Please consider bringing a donation of new or used art supplies. We're in need of a LOT of basics...paints (acrylic or watercolor), pastels, charcoal, paper, glue, scissors, etc. All of the supplies taken in will be used to help bring down the cost of our summer art classes, and be taken with us into Columbus schools this fall for the kids to use. The more supplies we bring in through donations, the more grant money we can put towards purchasing the un-fun things (ie-insurance).

SPEAKING of summer art classes....while we're still very much planning to travel to schools come this fall, the homeschooling community has expressed a great interested in working with us as well. Location is still being work out, but starting in early June there will be 2 classes available, one for ages 6-10 and one for the 11-14 yr olds. The younger class will meet for an hour once a week, and the older class for 90 minutes a week. Please send a msg or email ColumbusArtmobile@gmail.com if interested in signing your child up. All details regarding location, costs, times, etc should be finalized by mid-April.

Anyone interested in making a monetary donation, please do so through the Kickstarter website. We'll have our proposal on the site through May 31, and need to raise a minimum of $1000 to receive any of the money pledged so far. Right now we're at $420 which is AWESOME!!!

Thanks for all the support and for those of you hanging in there while I work out the many (many) kinks of getting up and running! : )
